COMING SOON: ADVENTURE #4

Descriptions of Adventures

Times in Kazakhstan

Yes, I lived in Kazakhstan, and it was a great experience I would never give back for anything. Times in Kazakhstan will open your eyes to some, lets say not so normal experiences......

Bonjour Belgium!

After living in Belgium, famous for its chocolate and belgian waffles, I am sure to have some adventures. And yes I do, Bonjour Belgium! will take you along with me to have an almost first-person adventure in Brussels, Belgium.

Adventure #1: Times in Kazakhstan

It all happened the day we decided to go to Gorky Park. As we sat down in the restaurant having no idea what we had just told the waiter we wanted to order we began talking about school, and really anything that we could talk about. Finally after a little wait the food was served. I thought I had ordered cheese ravoli but ended up witha sort of ravoli but difently not cheese. But, as I say you take what you get and in that case I ate it. After a filing lunch we went out to explore what Gorky Park had t offer. Stopping at places that looked intersting. OKay so we pretty much stopped everywhere! Gorky Park had rides (probably not the safest but you could ride them), food stands, and a few other things. This was a not so normal expeience because the rides were all rusty and it smelled really bad around the food stands. The first picture below is intersting because if you read it, it says pop-corn. Wouldn't you think they would have a different word for it. That's all for now! Check back later for more.....

Adventure #2: Times in Kazakhstan

Welcome to another edition of Times in Kazakhstan! Now let's start with our setting. Let's imagine a potholed road, dirt everywhere, a crowded parking lot, cars everywhere and then a run down building right in the middle of that. Let's say that my family and I enter that run down building and it is a market. That is where this story takes place. As you enter the Zaloni Bazar you can smell meats of all kinds and you also can smell some other things that you aren't sure where they're coming from. Walking down the rows and rows of booths. People are yelling at you to come take a look at their shop. Elbows are being jabbed into your sides so they can get in line in front of you. I make my way past the nuts, fruit, vegetables, fish, clothes and then I am face to face with cows tongue. Okay ,so maybe more, face to tongue. But, that wasn't all, as I looked down the aisle of meat I saw eyes, brains, kidneys, liver, heads of animals, big pieces of meat and the butchers chopping all of it up. The first time I went to the market I would have to say that this part grossed me out a lot. But, eventually, after I had been there many times I kind of just looked, but did not touch, and never felt sick. Well almost never.

Adventure #3: Times in Kazakhstan

Okay, so I have written a lot about places we went in Kazakhstan but what about where we lived. Yes, that is a story in itself.

Our house was on a potholed road with dirt everywhere. The people in front of us and next to us were locals. They lived like anyone else in Kazakhstan. Eat, slept, and shopped Kazakhstani. Well we did to, but don't get me wrong we weren't locals. Our house was the biggest and nicest on the block. Our dog had a huge yard to play around in and whenever it snowed he would pretty much disappear in it. The house was 3 floors. You walked in on the first floor into a hallway, off the hallway were a kitchen, living room and stairs. Taking the stairs upstairs brought you to 3 bedrooms and a bathroom. Taking the stairs down brought you to our TV room and a big long room behind it with our heaters, water etc.

Adventure #4: Bonjour Belgium!

Belgium was amazing! You probably know it as the best chocolate and waffles. But almost all their food there was delicious. Pasta, fries, salads, desserts, cheese....eating in Belgium was a sacrifice I was going to have to make. Just kidding, food was probably one of the best parts of Belgium. We ate out a lot there and also just ventured into the city and ate our way through it. Okay now to the point...waffles. The put almost anything that would be tasty on it, on it! Bananas, strawberries, chocolate, marshmallows, powered sugar and tons of other stuff. YUMMY!!
